Ethics approval and consent to participate
: We received ethics approval and then conducted linguistic fieldwork. All participants signed informed consent documents.We took the on-line training (ExternalRef removed) and applied for Academia Sinica Institutional Review Board (IRB,ExternalRef removed) certificate entitled “A northern Chinese origin of Austronesian agriculture: new evidence on traditional Formosan cereals”. We received the certificate in spring 2017 and conducted linguistic fieldwork in 16 aboriginal villages in summer and fall of the same year. The IRB certificate and signed consent documents are available as supporting materials.
