Declarations
:
: The ArUco tracking experiment took place at the Agrifirm research station ‘Laverdonk’ and was combined with an experiment on feeding that was already taking place. The protocol was shared with the animal welfare officers at both Utrecht University and at Laverdonk. The tracking experiment was not considered an animal experiment by them. A working protocol was prepared and shared with both institutions to facilitate communication and prevent negative effects of the tracking experiment on laying hen welfare. This was approved by the animal welfare officer of Utrecht University (working protocol 10803-2023-01).
