: Skin swab specimens (n = 25) were randomly selected baseline samples from the VIRUSCAN Study, an ongoing five-year (2014–2019) prospective cohort study conducted at Moffitt Cancer Center and the University of South Florida (R01CA177586–01; “Prospective study of cutaneous viral infections and non-melanoma skin cancer”). The study was approved by the University of South Florida Institutional Review Board, and all participants provided written informed consent [CitationRef removed].In addition, oral rinses (n = 22) were randomly selected from a pilot study that aimed to estimate the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori in oral gargles from a Latvian population.
