: The fish were clinically healthy and free from pathogens - as routine diagnostics were carried out regularly. Fish were euthanized by a sharp blow to the head, and the fish were immediately transported on ice to UiT - the Arctic University of Norway. This handling of fish, and picking of scales do not require special approval, as detailed in the Norwegian Regulations for use of animals in experimentation ( ().
