: This study was performed in accordance with the regulations of the KU Leuven ethical committee on animal experimentation, the Guidelines for the Care and Welfare of Cephalopods [, ] and the principles of the European Directive (2010/63/EU), which regulate animal research in the European Union (E 121 U) [] and with recommendations of the ARRIVE Guideline [] for reporting in vivo experiments with animals. The KU Leuven ethical committee provided the breeding approval to hatch paralarvae, which was the only ethical approval required.
