Ethics approval and consent to participate

: The field study and other animal ethics had been explicitly approved by the Ethics Committees of University of Haifa and Wuhan University. All procedures involving the mole rats were included in the main protocol approval, and no additional approval is required. All samples were lawfully acquired and their use was conformed to national and local laws and regulations, including the 1994 Animal Protection Law (Israel’s major animal welfare law;), Animal Experimentation Law (1994;), and Wildlife Protection Law (1955;).
