All applications for the use of animals were approved by the regional authorities for animal welfare (Thüringer Landesamt für Verbraucherschutz-TLV) based in Germany. Fish were euthanized under the approved license O_DV_21–24 by immersion in a 1.5 g/L Tricaine solution.
