: All procedures were approved by the University of Geneva Ethical Board (CUREG-2021–08-82). Participants signed informed consent forms and their identities were anonymised. Interviews were transcribed with the aid of the online software Happyscribe (Happy Scribe Ltd.) and transcripts were deleted from the cloud after use. Ethical approval is not required to sample water from the lake and we do not conduct or report on experiments on human participants.
