: All samples were imported into the United States via the Chicago Port Authority in accordance with both Namibian MEFT (AN202208007) and U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) research permits (639-22-245-02893) and U.S. Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) import permit (23US41867E/9). An International Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) exemption request was obtained from UGA and NMU for the use of fecal samples.
