: No field studies were conducted for this research. All specimens analysed in this study belong to the Biomphalaria collection housed in the Malacological Collection of the Instituto de Biología Subtropical (CONICET–Universidad Nacional de Misiones, Misiones, Argentina). Authorization to use the collection material for genomic analyses was granted to the first author by the Malacological Collection of the Instituto de Biología Subtropical (Authorization No. 13-2025). Therefore, no additional permits for specimen collection were required.
