: Not applicable. The research in this study did not involve humans, animals, wild plants, endangered plants, or engineered plants. The plant materials used in this study were provided by the USDA National Plant Germplasm System for research purposes requiring no special permissions in compliance with institutional, national, and international guidelines. The <i>Gossypium arboreum</i> germplasm accessions used in this study were donated to the USDA National Plant Germplasm System by researchers or other Genebanks and are freely available for research and breeding purposes following national and international guidelines. Research on the plant materials was conducted under local legislation and permissions following standard agronomic practices.
