: Animal Care and Use Committee approval was not obtained for this study because analyses were performed on existing data obtained under standard farm management from commercial dairy farmers and breeders. Data used in this research was provided by CDN, which is the organization that runs the national dairy cattle genetic evaluations in Canada. All dairy farmers in Canada must follow “The Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Dairy Cattle” developed by the National Farm Animal Care Council of Canada ().
