: In the rat body atlas study, all procedures in this protocol are in compliance with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal Welfare Act (9 CFR Parts 1, 2, and 3); the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals: Eighth Edition, (Institute for Laboratory Animal Research, The National Academies Press, Washington, D.C.); and the National Institutes of Health, Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare. Whenever possible, procedures in the study were designed to avoid or minimize discomfort, distress, and pain to animals. The protocols were reviewed and approved by the Covance Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
