Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Plant materials of all six cultivars with the different bunch orientations were initially collected as sword suckers from different fields of small-holder farmers and planted out separately at the Teaching and Research Farm, University of Uyo, Uyo, Nigeria. No special permissions were needed to collect these plants from the small holder farmers.
