: Collection of samples on animals were performed in accordance with directive 2010/63/EU. Non-invasive sampling of nasal mucus and blood sampling for determination of progesterone concentration were validated by ethical committee n° 019 of French “Ministère de l’Enseignement Supérieur, de la Recherche et de l’Innovation” for ewes (APAFIS#13067–2018011616242285 v2) and goats (APAFIS#9170–2017030716553048 v4). Nasal tissue was collected in a slaughterhouse at INRA UEPAO, ISO9001-certified, which received an approval # E37–175-2.
