Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Under the Australian Code for the Care and use of animals for scientific purposes, institutional ethics approval involving experimentation on invertebrates (excluding cephalopods) is not required; therefore, animal ethics approval was not required for this population genetics study on the invertebrate Penaeus monodon (see ). No permission or licence was required for the collection of wild adult P. monodon samples used in this study so they were obtained from commercial operators as a result of their normal activities.
