: The self-flocculating <i>S. obliquus</i> AS-6-11 was isolated from the freshwater pond on the campus of National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan by researchers at Prof. Jo-Shu Chang’s lab, and no permission is required for sample collection to isolate microalgal strains.
