: Fieldwork and animal use for this research was approved by the National Environmental Authority of Panamá (ANAM: SC/A-5-15). Capture and euthanasia procedures followed ethical guidelines for amphibian research [CitationRef removed] and procedures and export permits were extended by the Panamanian government (ANAM: SC/A-5-15 and SEX/A-25–15) and import permits, of fixed skins, by the Bundesamt für Naturschutz (BafN E-01676/15).
