: The woodwasps, <i>S. noctilio</i> and <i>S. nitobei</i> (Hymenoptera: Siricidae) are forestry pests in China, which collections were made with the direct permission of Tongliao forestry bureau. They are not included in the “List of Endangered and Protected Animals in China”. All operations were performed according to ethical guidelines in order to minimize pain and discomfort to the insects.
