: All experiments were carried out in accordance with the European Directive 201/63/EU on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes and approved by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation after ethical assessment by the Val de Loire animal experimentation ethic committee (protocols registered under APAFIS numbers 13965-2018042008519239v2 and 14014-2018030717477406v2). INRAE agreed to the use of animals in this protocol. All experiments were carried out in accordance with ARRIVE guidelines. Diet experiments were carried out following the INRAE guidelines for the growth and maintenance of adult non-pregnant ewes []. The dose of 50 µg/kg/day of BPS was set according to a previous study using the same experimental design [], and was based on 2006 European guidelines for tolerable daily intake of BPA [].
