: Ethical approval was not required for this study because the animals belonged to commercial farms and were not subjected to any invasive interventions. Milk samples were collected by the owners during routine milking procedures and retrieved by the personnel of the “Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale del Lazio e della Toscana “M. Aleandri”—National Reference Centre for Ovine and Caprine Milk and Dairy Products Quality” (Rome, Italy). Therefore, no specific permission was necessary to collect the specimens. An informed consent was obtained from the owners of the farms. All methods were carried out following relevant guidelines and regulations.
