: All yaks were handled strictly with good animal practices that complied with the Animal Ethics Procedures and Guidelines of the People's Republic of China. The study was approved by the Animal Administration and Ethics Committee of Lanzhou Institute of Husbandry and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (Permit No. 2019–002). The study was also carried out in compliance with the ARRIVE guidelines [, ]. The animals used in this study were from the Datong yak Farm in Qinghai Province. During the study, we obtained informed consent from the animal owners. The owners were provided clear information about the purpose, methods, and anticipated outcomes of the study, and they agreed to include their animals in the research. We received the owner's consent in writing and retained it as part of the ethical approval for this study.
