: All animal sampling procedures involving Xenopus laevis were conducted in accordance with institutional and national ethical guidelines. Approval was obtained from the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) at New York University School of Medicine (Protocol No. 20–0003) and the Animal Care and Use Committee at Stellenbosch University (Protocol No. SU-ACUD14-00028).
