: The samples used in this study were obtained during routine veterinary procedures that did not involve any experimental intervention on live animals. According to Polish regulations and the Act on the Protection of Animals Used for Scientific or Educational Purposes (15 January 2015), such procedures do not require the approval of the Bioethical Commission for Animal Care and Use in Poznan, Poland (Local Ethical Commission for Investigations on Animals in Poznan, Poland, 13/01/2020). This exemption was confirmed on 13 January 2020 by the Commission. All procedures were conducted in compliance with the ARRIVE guidelines and in accordance with relevant national regulations (including Directive 2010/63/EU).
