: All animal experiments were conducted following <i>NIH guidelines for housing and care of laboratory animals</i> and in accordance with the University of Nebraska Medical Center protocols approved by the institution’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (protocol numbers 13–009, 14–100 and 06–071) in animal facilities accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International. Human cord blood samples were obtained after receiving informed consent from parents and then approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
