: Samples were obtained in accordance with the principles of the Helsinki Statement renewed in 2013 in Fortaleza, Brazil. The study was approved by the local Research Ethics Committees of the Centro Universitario de Ciencias de la Salud, Universidad de Guadalajara (Comités de Ética, Investigación y Bioseguridad, with number CI-01516), as well as of the Hospital General de Occidente, Secretaría de Salud Jalisco, (Comité de Investigación y Ética, with number 513/17. Collection of the samples was accompanied by letters of informed consent, and in accordance with the official guidelines (Norma Oficial Mexicana, NOM-037-SSA3–2016, which governs national pathology laboratories and the collection, use, and storage of patient samples). This was a retrospective study and the confidentiality and privacy of the patients were guaranteed at all times.
