: The human study protocol was approved by the Institute’s Ethics Committee of Postgraduate Institute of Medical Research and Education, Chandigarh, India. An informed written consent was obtained from the participant. CD was diagnosed based on serum IgA anti-tissue transglutaminase antibody [tTG-Ab] and duodenal biopsy suggestive of villous atrophy [CitationRef removed]. The animal study and all experimental protocols were approved by the Institutional Animal Ethical Committee and Institutional Biosafety Committee of Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh, India.
