: RKI collects and processes the routine surveillance data used in this study in accordance with § 7 and § 13 of the German Infection Protection Act (Infektionsschutzgesetz, IfSG). No additional ethics vote or data protection declaration is required. The Robert Koch Institute is a higher federal authority within the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of Health. According to the German Protection against Infection Act (paragraph 4) the Robert Koch Institute as the National Public Health Institute has the task to epidemiologically analyse the national data on notifiable infectious diseases and on notifiable detections of pathogens.
