: The samples included in this study were obtained during routine laboratory procedures at the CF reference center. Consent for participation was obtained from all included patients upon written signature of informed consent form. All data collection and experiments related to this study were performed in accordance with Brazilian guidelines and regulations (Resolution CNS nº 196/96), as well as the Declaration of Helsinki.
