: Ethical approval for the study was granted by the Institutional Review Board of Mekelle University (MU-IRB: 2391/2024), following compliance with the Helsinki ethical declarations for human studies, and the International Council for Laboratory Animal Science’s ethical declarations for animal studies. Official letters of cooperation were issued to relevant authorities and dairy farms, with permission obtained from the College of Veterinary Sciences, College of Health Sciences, and the Tigray Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Development. The aims of the study were thoroughly communicated to participants, who provided written informed consent. Participants were assured of their right to choose whether to take part in the study, and all data was maintained confidentially, with results of laboratory examinations conveyed to dairy farm owners and individual participants for further medical guidance.
