Ethics approval and consent to participate: The experimental procedures were conducted following approval from the Animal Ethics Committee of Nazi BONI University in Bobo-Dioulasso. This approval (CEEA-UJKZ/2021-07) was granted after verification of the research protocol to ensure animal welfare. This study was carried out with the permission of the provincial directorate of agriculture and fisheries resources of Houet through obtaining a collection authorization signed by Provincial Director (N°2024-00000005/MARAH/SG/DRARAH-HBS/DPARAH-H). Access to peri-urban sites was granted by zone managers. Consent and permission from each owner was also obtained before any sampling was carried out. No mortality or adverse effects were observed following the sampling.
