: Sampling sites of <i>S. sellowii</i> and <i>S. lepidophylla</i> are not classified as protected natural areas and neither species are included in the Mexican Official Norms (NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2010) as endangered species. Specifically, <i>S. lepidophylla</i> was collected with prior consent of landowner (Dr. Edgar Balcázar-López from CUCEI, University of Guadalajara).
