: The plant materials used in this study were di-haploid <i>Populus simonii × Populus nigra</i> seedlings from a wild-type clone growing in the experimental forest of Northeast Forestry University, Harbin, China. And no permits are required for the collection of plant samples. This study did not require ethical approval or consent, as it did not involve any endangered or protected species.
