: The rhizomes of licorice accessions were collected from wild natural resources of public areas of Iran, following national and scientific guidelines and based on the International Standard for Sustainable Wild Collection of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (ISSC-MAP) (Version 1.0) as prepared by the Medicinal Plant Specialist Group of the IUCN Species Survival Commission (The World Conservation Union). Associate Professor, Akbar Karami, has gained the permission from Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization (Iranian Government Organization)to collect wild plants from public natural resources.
