: In this study, kenaf bast plants were obtained from the Institute of Bast Fiber Crops, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science and used in accordance with national and international standards and local laws and regulations. No specific permission is required for the collection of kenaf bast plants and the use of kenaf bast does not pose any risk to other species in nature. The kenaf bast materials can be accessed at the request of the corresponding author.
