: We obtained the necessary permissions and licenses for <i>Lithocarpus</i> fruit sample collections in Yunnan Province. We also obtained the permission for dissecting the fruit samples from the herbaria specimens. Dr. Xi Chen identified the field collected species, and we applied the identification results of the vouchered specimens (see Table S for deposition numbers of herbaria specimens). The study complied with relevant institutional, national, and international guidelines and legislation.
