: Collection of all samples completely compiles with the Regulations on the Protection of Wild Plants of the People’s Republic of China, the IUCN Policy Statement on Research Involving Species at Risk of Extinction and the Convention on the Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. Plant samples in this study were not included in the list of national key protected plants and not collected from national reserve. According to the Regulations on the Protection of Wild Plants of the People’s Republic of China and the list of national key protected wild plants, no specific permissions were required for collecting these plants. Experimental researches with <i>Cerotastigma</i> species comply with Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences guidelines (ExternalRef removed), preserving the genetic resources of the species used. It does not require ethical approval. All voucher specimens were deposited in the herbarium of Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Professor Heng Li from Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences identified the species.
