: Our research plant materials are derived from natural populations, the sample collection was approved by the local forestry administration or the relevant departments. The plant samples were deposited in the Herbarium of Zhouzhi Experimental Station (NWSUAF-KP08), Northwest Agriculture & Forestry University, located in Er-qu Town, Zhouzhi city (postal code: 710400), Shaanxi, China. And the samples were identified by Yu-liang Cai (yuanyicyl@nwafu.edu.cn). a renowned cherry expert, who is the Chairman of the National Cherry Industry Innovation Alliance, the Vice Chairman of the Cherry Branch of the Chinese Society for Horticultural Science, and the Chief Cherry Expert of the Shaanxi Modern Cherry Industry Technology System. The deposition number can be found in additional file (Additional file 3). The authors confirm that all our collection and experiments are conducted in accordance with relevant institutional, national and international norms and regulations.
