: This study does not involve research on humans, animals, or any endangered or protected plant species, all methods and experimental studies comply with institutional, national, and international guidelines and legislation, no specific permits were needed, including the collection of plant materials. The peanut cultivar Zhonghua 9 has been certified by Hubei Crop Variety Appraisal Committee in 2004, and has been registered in China in 2019, with registry code GPDpeanut(2019)420219. Seeds of Zhonghua 9 have been deposited in the seed bank of OCRI-CAAS, and the seeds are freely available for scientific research. All the plant materials used in this study were grown in the greenhouse of OCRI-CAAS.
