: This randomized, controlled single-centre pilot study was approved by the Scientific Ethics Committee on the 7th of July 2020 (Ruhr-Universität of Bochum, chairperson: Prof. Trampisch, protocol number: 20–6923) and registered at the German Clinical Trials Register on the 10th of July 2020 (DRKS00021433) prior to enrolment of the patients. This study was performed according to the most recent version of the Declaration of Helsinki. Written informed consent was obtained from all patients at least one day before the surgical intervention.
