Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The study was retrospective and therefore not dependent on approval from the national ethics committee or individual patient consent as stated by The Danish National Committee on Health Research Ethics (Sect. 14(2) of the Committee Act). The study was approved by The Danish Data Protection Agency, by which administrative permission was given to access the clinical and personal data (case no. 1–16-02–967-17) in MidtEPJ and The Western Denmark Heart Registry. Data were therefore not anonymized before analysis, which enabled cross-reference in the aforementioned platforms.
