The protocol was approved by the Committee on Human Research, Publication and Ethics (CHRPE) of the KNUST School of Medicine and Dentistry (Reference: CHRPE/AP/509/18) in 2018. The study adhered to the STROBE guidelines for cross-sectional studies. Written informed consent was obtained from all participants in their preferred language (English or Twi). To ensure confidentiality, all data were anonymized. Participants with newly identified cardiovascular risk factors received counseling and were referred for appropriate clinical care.
