Ethics approval and consent to participate: Ethical approval was secured from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Beirut Arab University (BAU) with an approval code of: 2024-H-218-HSC-M-0666. Patient consent for publication statement: Preceding the data collection form, a consent paragraph was included indicating the participants’ freedom to participate in this study along with the assurance of their privacy and the confidentiality of their information. An Accept option was assigned for those willing to participate in the study which led them to the questions of the questionnaire. The questions were presented in the simple Arabic language and contained a sociodemographic section and the items of the Arabic version of the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Loneliness Scale.
