Ethics approval and consent to participate: This study was conducted in adherence to the Declaration of Helsinki. Ethical approval was obtained from the Institutional Research Committee, Pokhara University (Ref no. 115/2082/83). Participants were informed of the study’s purpose, procedure, risks, and benefits before obtaining written informed consent. Informed consent was obtained using a thumbprint from the illiterate participants. Withdrawal was accepted at any time during data collection. Anonymity and confidentiality of all data were strictly maintained. Participants identified as high risk were referred to the nearest health facility for further evaluation and care.
