Ethics approval and consent to participate: The clinical data, CTA examinations, serum samples, and carotid plaque specimens used in the present study had been collected and archived under a previously approved protocol (approval no. KYLLKS20230207, approved on August 23, 2023), with informed consent permitting their storage and subsequent research use. The present study was subsequently conducted as a retrospective secondary analysis of these pre-existing data and archived specimens. The protocol for the present secondary analysis was reviewed and approved by the Ethics Committee of Suining Central Hospital on May 25, 2026 (approval no. KYLLKS20260161).
