: The study was approved by the Regional Health Research Ethics Committee (REK), the Data Protection Officer, and the research board at the Clinic of Cardiology at St. Olav's University Hospital. The current study is part of ESA 16/9114, which is a project aiming to describe and improve the quality of care in the ED at St. Olav's University Hospital. Only data already available in the hospital’s database were used. As such, REK ruled that no further patient consent was required.
