The MOI Research Ethics Committee approved the study protocol and analysis of the web-based trauma database (Permit Ref. No. PA 78/338/01/05). Because data were collected as part of a prospective trauma registry using routinely collected clinical information without any direct patient contact, individual patient informed consent was waived at all sites.
