Ethics approval and consent to participate

: This study formed part of a cross-sectional study into pain and osteoarthritis that was approved by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Research Ethics Committee, The University of Nottingham (Ethics Reference No: K13022014). Implied consent to participate was obtained from all participants completing the electronic self-report instrument and written consent from those who attended for clinical assessment.

: The institutions consent form was used to gain consent. Participants were informed that should they provide consent to participant, the results from this study would be published in scientific and medical journals.
