Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Ethical approval for this study was obtained by the Ethical Committee of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Heidelberg and by the College of Medicine Research and Ethics Committee (COMREC) in Malawi (P.04/14/1566). Written consent was obtained from all participants prior to conducting interviews and observations. The co-author, Manuela de Allegri, was Principal Investigator for primary data collection and agreed to the use of the data for further analysis once the impact evaluation was completed.
