Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Ethical approvals and consent to participate were provided from two ethics committees: Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia (ACHSA: 04–15-621) and Metro South Health Human Research Ethics Committee (Queensland; HREC/16/QPAH/293). Consent obtained from participants was collected via the tablet computer-based application (Grog Survey App), which was the tool used the collect data from participants. Participants read and/or listened (via headphones) to a consent statement read out on the tablet computer. They then select to say ‘OK’ to agree, or ‘no’ (to not provide consent to take part). In addition, an Information Statement form was shown to each participant by a research assistant. Participants were given a copy of this form to keep. Both ethics committees did not require parental consent for participants aged 16–17 years.
